Stay with a Costa Rican Family

Since the first experiences we had with tourists visiting us from Europe, we thought the idea for the tourist to stay with a Costa Rican family. At that moment it was a challenge and a test to evaluate the results.

After three years of experiences, we have been able to see the satisfaction and happiness not only from each tourist involved but also the family that hosted them.

We have also been able to help and beneficiate some families, mainly in the Turrialba community, which were previously chosen according to the basic conditions of comfort. At the same time they needed an opportunity to grow and provide economic stability to their household.

Being hosted by a Costa Rican family provides you with the opportunity to:

• Discover the sensibility Costa Rican brotherhood
• Discover the food, and every day habits
• Learn the language in a total linguistic immersion.
• Create bounds of friendship and respect.

We invite you to visit Turrialba and be able to spend some time with a Costa Rican family.

Through Turisports we can offer you a linguistic training in Turrialba. Since a few years ago, the School of Languages was established in this community. A Spanish program for foreigners is offered and also provides the possibility of enjoying the surroundings. The course can be offered for three months, and Turisports can provide you different hosting choices.		This modality is offer to those who come through an specific tour offered by Turisports which consist of having one session three times per week. This modality will help you understand better the idiosyncrasy of the “ticos”…… Tico? Why the costa ricans are called “ticos”? Each session will be of twenty minutes and will be given by a person specialized in this field.

One of the Turisports goals is to help the visitor experience the Costa Rican culture in every way posible, which is why we invite you to join some cultural activities:

• Presentation of Typical Dances
• Concerts of Costa Rican music
• Guided visits to factories of national products such as coffee, sugar, industry, etc

Visits to National or Regional Museums or Investigation Areas
Schools or High Schools visit in the area.

Each of these activities requires a particular inscription, for this reason, it is necessary to express with anticipation the interest of participating in any of these activities.
